Neil Barnes is an artist and illustrator who has been drawing professionally for over 40 years.

His work has ranged from illustration and portraiture to architecture, interiors and furniture.

Drawing has always been at the centre of his practice. He is particularly interested in understanding how things are constructed — their form, proportion, position and relationship to the space around them.

He still draws every day, from observation, memory and imagination, and continues to study, experiment and look for ways to understand drawing better.

He now runs practical drawing workshops, sharing the way he approaches three-dimensional drawing with other people.
